Ubisoft has announced a significant, free content expansion for Assassin’s Creed Mirage titled “Valley of Memory,” set to launch on November 18 for all platforms, including PlayStation 5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and iOS. This surprise major update, which coincides with the game’s second anniversary, delivers substantial new content and highly-requested gameplay improvements to the core experience.
The Valley of Memory update introduces an entirely new and visually stunning region: AlUla. This ancient, desert-filled valley, set at a crossroads of civilizations in 9th-century Arabia, was largely lost to time and has been painstakingly recreated as an artistic and historical endeavor by the developers. The expansion’s new narrative arc sees protagonist Basim journey to AlUla after hearing rumors that his long-lost father may still be alive there. This emotional side-story promises to add a new layer to Basim’s character, kicking off before the finale of the main game.
Key Features of the Free ‘Valley of Memory’ Update:
- New Region & Story: Explore the breathtaking new map of AlUla, including the old town, fortresses, and the impressive necropolis of Hegra. The expansion adds over six hours of new gameplay, including a new main quest, assassination targets, side quests, and contracts.
- Parkour Improvements: In response to community feedback, the update introduces major enhancements to parkour and mobility. This includes a new control scheme, the ability to manually jump (a fan-favorite feature from older titles), and the ability to customize side and back ejects, allowing for more creative and free-flowing movement across the rooftops of Baghdad and AlUla.
- Replayable Missions & Challenges: All contracts and Black Box missions from both the base game and the new DLC will become replayable via the “Animus Sequences.” These replays can be tackled with optional, specific challenges—such as avoiding Eagle Vision or remaining completely undetected—to unlock exclusive rewards.
- Expanded Customization: Two new difficulty levels—Hardened and Ultimate Assassin—will be added for those seeking a greater challenge. Players will also receive a new skill, Engineer 2, and a new Level 3 modification for all tools.
This extensive, free update signals Ubisoft’s continued commitment to Assassin’s Creed Mirage, offering significant additions that enhance both its story and core gameplay mechanics for all players.
